Whitby is a great city, but I love this picture from 1959 - it captures a feeling of smokier, older time that is so full of atmosphere that can almost smell the smoke, industry and feeling of Britain.
Simply put this is a beautiful photo of flowers with a tree line background - it’s a good reminder that the Aussie scrub isn’t barren desert but a beautiful and distinct place.
I also want you to take a look at Taken With Camera Plus, whilst the site is mostly an advert for the Camera+ iPhone App, it does contain a gallery of good looking photos taken with the app. It’s a worthy reminder that Smartphone Apps are a source of powerful photography. In fact I’m writing this because I was coaching someone this morning who was working with a Samsung Galaxy phone. We pushed the quality of his photos by combining filter modes in the phone app.
SmartPhones are a great source of creative photography. What are your photographs like?
Lego space shuttle makes it to an altitude of 35Km is a good enough story in its own right. In fact I posted this earlier in the week on G+ and Twitter. Then I took a second look at the video and found it to be enchanting and beautiful and a great piece in its own right.

The Awakening (by Joel Bedford)
There is something about this photo that has me itching to do a film noir story, or perhaps something involving secret agents and aliens.
It’s often said that a good photo tells a story - and this puts so many in my head it simply had to be shown in Shared Creation
Cardiff bay is nothing if but vibrant, and beautiful. Able to be busy and full of life but also calm, sedate and serene. Usually both are happening at once and are just a turn of the head away from each other. This particular view came about on a still Winters day. The sun was low and clouds we’re being illuminated. As a result there is no real detail. Just shadows and shine; light and dark.
For me this feels like a day that has been busy and is now winding down to a peaceful night full of silence and cocoa.
Ever wondered what happens when add a digital camera recording video to a drill. The result is something that I find reminiscent of old SF films. What it does though is show us how the dominant colours in a scene mark things out for us. Creative, captivating and cool.

I had to include this set. The first photo gave me a combination of vertigo and deepest wonder. The second reminded me that no matter how hard times may seem - the world is still full of wonder.
I was sent a link to the Facebook page for this new indie film a day or so ago. It took me a little bit of time to go and take a look.
From what I can make out this is a new romantic drama about a writer trying to write a follow up to a successful first novel. It also seems to be fairly early days in respect of getting out video for people to take a look at. I’m not sure what I think of the film yet but there seems to be growing on interest on Facebook.
